Supply Chain Data Analyst

Summary of Position

To collate and analyse Procurement Management Information from a variety of sources to enable informed decisions to be made in procurement strategy, planning and development of category plans.

Supports Category Lead/Manager in achieving the goal of significant initial cost reductions by conducting analyses on spend data e. g., should-cost analyses and researching trends in relevant supply markets.

Conducts research on economic trends in key supply markets, cross-sector comparisons and monthly status reports.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Conduct analyses on spend data/researching trends

  • Assists Category Lead/Manager by conducting supply market research

  • Updates key market indices

  • Assists in spend data analysis and financial analyses

  • Compare spend, prices and performance across sectors and sites

  • Assists in preparing monthly procurement performance status reports

  • Upholds internal and external policies, regulations and law

  • Liaison with procurement staff at all levels to support development of category plans

  • Liaison with procurement staff at all levels to analyse contract spend and trends

  • To carry out any other duties which are within the employee s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed

Scope

The role will work as part of a global team and need to be able to work remotely.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the data collection across sector/region/business units as required with the potential of bringing business and category perspective to the data.

  • Support category lead and manager with development of product cost models: material usage, material cost, equipment requirements, labour rates; cycle times, tooling and capital requirements for new business or changes to current business;

  • Review complex bill of materials for reasonableness and identify cost optimisation opportunities;

  • Review manufacturing assumptions for reasonableness;

  • Communicate/educate internal and external organisations regarding the cost data. This includes financial and organisational leadership;

  • Support development of should-costs for goods and services in portfolio if responsibility;

  • Support procurement negotiations; and

  • Support Procurement Excellence initiatives as directed.

Special Factors

  • May involve up to 30% international travel

Qualifications/ knowledge/ experience

(Technical/ professional knowledge and skills competency)

Educated to degree level (Finance, Business, or Engineering desired. Masters desired)

Essential

2+ years of financial analysis, product costing and/or engineering experience (research experience a plus)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
